A must visit coffeeshop - especially because of the friendly cat sitting at the bar waiting to be petted

I really liked the vibe, as someone who’s never tried drugs of any kind I didn’t feel like I couldn’t go in. I did end up trying a space cake and it was great. Would come again next time I visit Amsterdam. Staff were welcoming and very good value for money.

Good vibes. Good music. Not the comfiest seating (all stools). Good for a short time, but good none the less.

Me and my fiancée were looking for somewhere to have a smoke after dinner and this spot is absolutely perfect, the staff are amazing and really helpful, drinks are cold and smoke is 10/10, i would definitely recommend this coffeeshop if you are in the area and if you are not in the area then it’s definitely worth the tram trip for the vibes

Was in Amsterdam for a few days and we visited this place every day we were there. Lovely little coffeeshop, very chill vibe with good music, ideal place for more introverted people like myself. Nice selection of weed and beverages too. Antonio the Cat was also a pleasure!

Beyond the fantastic weed and hash (which are top-notch!), I have to rave about their coffee. If you're in the mood for a perfect cappuccino paired with a slice of their incredible homemade chocolate spacecake, this is the spot for you. The staff is super friendly, and whenever I bring a friend, they always take the time to explain the menu in detail. Big kudos to them for being so awesome and accommodating to both visitors and locals alike!

Love this place! Very laidback accepting vibe and the weed is fantastic. Probably come here about once a week I love it that much! Very conveniently placed near liedsplein. Sitting and hanging out inside is a lovely experience as well

Just spent a day and a half in here - great place - the owner/manager is fantastic, great coffee, good vibe, some lovely gelatos and a very cool cat!!! Look forward to coming back in July

Decent prices and really good quality stuff. Prerolls are good this place and the dolphin are the only really good pre-rolls we’ve had. There’s even a cat named Tony that pops in. Really lovely place, I’ve seen some negative comments about being asked to buy more to stay there, we’ve not had this experience but it’s common with all coffeeshops here for the customers spending more to be given a table this place is not rude whatsoever.

Loved this coffee shop. Atmosphere, tunes, lighting and fab choice of smokes, tea and lush space cake. Dude who works there is lovely too. Will definitely be back.

IMMACULATE vibes here. Been in my top 5 coffee shops. Really recommend Bubble-gum Bio, its affordable and amazing for the price. Really miss this place, me and my partner always ensure to go here every time we are in Dam

DO NOT GO to this coffeshop, My bestfriend and I went to amsterdam and had an amazing time and experience except for the treatment from this coffeshop, the man on the front desk was the most rude person Ive ever met, he treated us like we were wasting his time and made us feel like we were not welcome, he did the same with everyone there, is not cheap and with so many amazing options in amsterdam do not waste your time with this man.

This has been my favourite coffee shop so far. Everyone is super friendly, great vibe and made to feel really welcome. Hot chocolate was sooooo tasty and the weed was great. Definitely going to come back before my holiday is up. Thank you

I have been going to the Otherside for a number of years and it is easily the best coffeeshop in Amsterdam. Very cosy and lovely interior, with a chilled and peaceful atmosphere. The staff are all very friendly, welcoming and engaging.

my boyfriend and i went there yesterday at like 6pm. staff was really rude, the product is meh at best and the preroll had a tip that was like 6cm long..... no thank you

The Otherside is personally my favourite coffee shop in Amsterdam. In contrast to many other coffee shops that often have a dark atmosphere, The Otherside is very cozy, open, and friendly. It has more of a living room atmosphere with very good quality weed, friendly staff, and good music! It’s a positive place with good vibes to chill. Besides this there is also a cool cat dropping by sometimes, “Antonio”.

Not a welcoming and friendly atmosphere at all. You aren’t allowed to buy a drink in there unless you buy their weed. Even if your friends buy their weed you have to sit there without a drink and you can’t smoke your own stuff. With so many coffeeshops in Amsterdam I don’t know why anyone would come to this place.

AVOID THIS COFFEESHOP! Was refused when trying to order a drink unless I buy something from the weed menu, even though my friends had just been before me and bought weed and a drink. I was told “It’s a coffee shop”. Yes, it is the worst coffee shop in Amsterdam and the reviews back that up. I have been in lots of coffee shops and never once been refused service unless I buy something. But it’s okay, you lost out on money, customers but gained a 1 star review. I will make sure to get my friends to also leave a 1 star review.

This was the first coffee shop that I went to my first time in Amsterdam, it’s so relaxed and cosy and staff are really nice - perfect spot for any solo travellers. I’ve been to Amsterdam 3 more times since and The Otherside is ALWAYS the first place I go!

Cozy coffeeshop offering coffee, tea, drinks, and good bud. The bartender/owner is very friendly and welcoming. Good mix of people, and everyone is nice and chill. There is even a resident cat that will stroll in and out looking for pats and treats. Came every day while on my 4 day trip to Amsterdam.

Visited this little gem of a coffeeshop on our last day in Amsterdam and we loved it. Very friendly, charming owner. Great music and great vibes! No Wi-Fi though, but you won’t care because you’ll be too busy enjoying the vibes. We’re definitely going back! And the neighbours cat, Antonio, kept us entertained. He even posed for a photo!

Nice ambiance, small spot, nice selection. Will say - be mindful when purchasing pre-rolls as some are mixed with tobacco. As pure cannabis smokers, this threw us off a bit (not fans). Best to roll your own J’s if you’re like us :-)

Chill place, good weed, you don't necessarily have to buy drinks/snack, you can play cards on the table with your friends, and the cat of the shop next door is everyday visiting and he is very chill and cute

Really rude obnoxious owner.. Just search Google and you'll see most coffee shops are 4.3 star and up..these guys are below 4 star that's saying something. we went in ordered 2 cokes and when he asked about weed we said we were gonna buy in 10 mins as we're thirsty and needed a j first ...he then after we pay for drinks says oh but you can't smoke your own stuff.. For context it's 2pm and it's empty..only 2 other people there...and also for context we needed weed..he heard me say to my friend the weeds great here!! But who wants to support such unfriendly businesses who are so rigid.. Enough better options around to avoid. Who are much much more friendly.

The products here are beautiful. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. The special cake is quite effective. Their drinks are good. A nice coffee shop that can be visited for a short time

I would not recommend this coffee shop. I visited here with my aunt. The staff were unfriendly and rude. It’s a tourist trap and doesn’t reflect true Amsterdam. You won’t want to stay long because of the uncomfortable seating and stale atmosphere. The product was not of great quality. On the website there’s a reggae sign but there’s no reggae vibe.

Clean and has that charm of a old school Coffeeshop it’s not in your face like some others. Probably could do with a bit of a update but it’s chilled and I like the strains.

Such good vibes here. I came two years ago and found it by chance, went several times during my week stay. Then this year I had a 24 hour layover, went there and had a great chat with the owner, super nice. They even have a daily cat visitor name Antonio, he's adorable. Would definitely recommend this place to have a chill place to relax and grab a drink. 10/10

My bf bought the pure ones and he said those were the best ones. The man working there is very nice.

I’ve smoked 2 rolled joints and I feel nothing, don’t take the rolled ones.

Relaxed atmosphere. The owner does not allow groups with more than 5 people, which grants the place a cozy atmosphere. Great music selection and good choice of weed and hash.

I have been going over 25 years here. Its one of my first herbal coffee shops and is just chill. Good weed, good coffee and small n intimate w good music and art. Gone is the rotating toilet seat that would rotate and be cleaned after flushing.☹ I just love this lil place.

One of my fave coffee shops. It's very relaxed and not too noisy. I particularly like it because it's not one of those super intense social coffee shops but instead was friendly and relaxing. They offered space cakes which were strong as hell and super yummy. Ate a whole one and was stoned till morning

Excellent coffeeshop great place to spend some time, be warned however that just buying drinks and smoking your own is not permitted, a purchase from the herbal menu is required. I haven't been to the city for six years so this may not be unusual now. Other than that, great place.

Since the first time in 1995 The Other Side is kind of my starting off place when visiting Amsterdam. Laid back with a decent level of weed choices or edibles. It's also a great location in the city and is on the gay street. Cheers!

Ambiance of the place was alright, cozy with tables and big photos of celebrities blazing. Weed was low quality , had to turn down the Purple Haze, looked very stemmy and small sad buds with hints of purple. Settled for a big bud (coming from Canada we know our big bud) it was a mid at best , similar to China bud , good look ok taste no high. No dank factor here, would not come back after trying some other places with high quality buds.

The place looks very nice but the attention is terrible, the guy who attends at night is rude. It does not make the site pleasant. If you want a good experience go to another place do not waste neither time nor money there

Owners care more about you buying a drink every 2 minutes instead of keeping the place clean and making you feel welcome. Very rude service and very poor quality weed at a poor price compared to what else is on offer in Amsterdam. Suprised if this place still exists in 2 years at this rate. Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Weird vibe, bartender was a bit rude, can't stay there if you are only there for the weed, you have to order a drink too. Atmosphere is fine, but the weed got us pretty fuccd up. My recommendation is sativa silver i think it called, 1.2g for about 15 euros.

While in Amsterdam I went to many coffee shops and this by far was the best. The environment was calm and the music was just right. Unlike other coffee shops, the pre-roll I purchased was high quality and actually gave a good buzz. Staff are friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back the next time I visit.

Great spot if you're a white supremacist. After an otherwise pleasant day in Amsterdam my cousin and I walked into this rubbish establishment where we saw 2 available stools by the bar. I asked the guy sitting at the bar if someone was using the stool next to him. He indicated we were welcome to have both the seats by him. Then the male employee working the bar came over (tall, white, muscular yet a bit effeminate). First, he told us grufly that we couldn't "smoke" at the bar. That was fine as we had no intention of smoking and indicated as much. Then he told us that we couldn't "sit" as we were positioned because we would block a menu that was taped to the very edge of the top of the bar. With plenty of space available, my cousin began to move her stool away from the menu. Then he told us we couldn't sit at the bar at all. I asked him where exactly we could sit. He replied that he couldn't make room for us. We are two black women. The only non-white individuals in the place. The other customers observed and said nothing. I told him that he was a pig and we left. A gentle reminder of the nature and history of the country we're visiting. But who knows, it may be the perfect spot for others.

Excellent coffeeshop at the corner of what was called Rue de Vaseline, the main gay street of Amsterdam. Now that is history, but The Otherside's still going strong. Favorite staff members: André Gregor and Nick.

Staff were very aloof, and not exactly a friendly atmosphere, but the prices are average and the décor is interesting enough. There are better places you could go, but there are worse by far.

Small and cozy place close to the "Flower Market". You need to buy a drink or something inside if you want to roll your own stuff inside. They will always ask for you ID card before ordering something. Drinks are not expensive, nothing special special with the music, but is not laud so is possible to have a proper conversation, they offer pre-rolled stuff, really good space cakes, etc. No WiFi. If it is too crowded maybe you would need to share your table with other people if it is ok for you. I would recommend it for a small stop to relax after doing some tourism, as the environment is just "ok".

If I could give negative stars I would. THE WORST SERVER! Sounds like the same guy mentioned in other reviews. On top of the rudeness they were out of everything on the menu I wanted (which wasn't much) The guy behind the counter was ignorant and shouting especially at customers. for the neighborhood we were in it didn't feel very inclusive. The store was dirty and had no ambiance.. Go to Abraxus.. Church or Grey Area. This place is a joke.
