Great coffeeshop with an awesome crew! Been coming here for many years and now I’m looking forward to how the place is gonna look after remodeling. After visiting many coffeeshops in Amsterdam, this is my favorite one for the flower, music and vibe. I was gonna dock them one star for their new grinder that doesnt work well, I prefer the old plastic one, but I can’t do it to my friends there. But that new grinder sucks. Bring back the old one.

Been visiting Amsterdam for a couples of days with my friends, and we found this Coffee Shop. Each day we came back here to chill. High quality weed, soft drinks and also sweets you can find there. Welcoming atmosphere and great playlist

Good material and nice prices. You will find here everything you look for. Nice place to chill. You can sit here and smoke as long as you buy drinks or material. Other Shops often insist on both. Friendly staff but drinks could be quicker. Top shop we will come back.

I don't smoke, or use Cannabis however we visited on a recent trip to Amsterdam for my wife to purchase. She's not a regular cannabis smoker, and told the woman serving that this was her second time smoking. She asked for something very light. The person, we feel gave her something extremely strong as when she smoked the joint that she was given, she completely passed out. She said that it was one of the strongest things she has ever had and had no control over her body while smoking what they gave her. On the upside, the coffeeshop is clean and seemed really popular. I've heard the actual coffee is great, but I didn't get to try.

Go! By far the best coffeeshop in Amsterdam. Great place to relax, smoke, and just feel like a regular. Best staff, great service, and always a dog or two there to make it feel like home. See you in a few weeks! Go!!

Friendly staff, good drinks and a nice assortment of buds for you to enjoy. We were NEVER hassled to order more drinks every 5 minutes like in some other shops. Will definitely visit again and I cannot recommend it enough.

Avoid this place if you don’t like to be treated like $hit. The tall guy wearing glasses needs some costumer services training. It was very unpleasant to be approached by him and his rude behaviour. I don’t know his name but his bossy behaviour isn’t acceptable and I was totally in the mood to stay at this coffee shop. Had to leave after buying what I went for, unfortunately. It’s a shame since the place itself it’s cozy and welcoming. Tourists avoid this place because they will treat you in a very rude way.

great atmosphere, tasty coffee, friendly staff and good weed! we kept coming back and didn’t even try to look for another coffee shop :-D the prices are great for what you get - the edibles especially, that were tasty and strong. very chill vibes, they don’t sell alcohol so it’s just weed, great music (reggae, dub and funk) and people chatting. they provide free rolling papers and let you borrow grinders. great place for introverts looking for a place to smoke and have a coffee or hot chocolate! (the photo was taken right as they were closing but it’s usually very lively, but not overwhelming) another thing is if you look young, remember to bring your physical id because the staff are told to be strict letting guests in!

Great music. Really nice vibes. Friendly staff. Plus inside there is good ventilation, so it's pleasant to sit in. Update: Been to 5 different coffeeshops. This is the best.

Always feel at home In the Rookies! They are dog friendly too as far as I know! The owners dog hangs out there and other locals call in with dogs too

Visited this coffee shop recently with my sister. She doesn’t smoke and wanted to try, I smoke regularly. the guy who sold us the Buds was very nice and helpful! I never experienced something so potent and I’m really sorry I had to leave my half emptied (very good!!) smoothie behind to explore the city. Will be coming again and hopefully staying longer, slept like a baby in the hotel and felt good and energetic the day after. Thank you for this nice first experience for me and my sister!

Coffee shop is great! Very cozy, clean, not so dark like others, stuff is super gentle, they gave me grinder, let me sit in the shop to roll, and I bought the juice because of that. That’s friendly nice, because others shops they don’t let you sit if you didn’t buy anything there

Excellent friendly staff. Great weed and regular price for drinks. Not a problem to have a look and smell before buying and good advice on new strains I wasn't clued up on. Comfortable seats, including outside where the fab staff take your drinks orders. Remember... good manners get good service... #keepthecoffeeshopsforeveryone

I wanted to write this comment to thank one of the staff members. Indeed I had the bad experience of losing consciousness after smoking, not being a regular user. The staff member reacted instantly in the best way by making me regain consciousness and by bringing me a sugar and caffeine bar to make me feel better. I recommend this coffee shop which knows perfectly how to intervene in these delicate moments.

This coffeeshop is amazing. I have been to Amsterdam several times and it was my first time (several times in fact) in Rookies. I find the smattering of bad reviews on here incredibly hard to believe. We came every day, both in the early afternoon and the evening and the staff were very polite, friendly and attentive. Good selection of weed and the cappuccinos were delicious. The place has a very chill vibe with comfy seats, nice atmosphere and great music at just the right volume. This will be my "go to" place for future visits and I will recommend it to all my friends as well. Thanks for the good times.

If you're going to Amsterdam, and coffee shops are on your bucket list, you HAVE to go to this one. It's got a great energy and really wonderful atmosphere. I went to end my night pretty much every day I was there. That's how good it was! Genuinely felt like a neighborhood joint (lol), if I lived there I'd probably go every day. The fresh OJ is bangin' and so is the bud.

Amazing coffeeshop: ample space (which is a rare thing in Amsterdam), warm and inviting seats, and fantastic service. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, and they do table service for the drinks! They use hemp instead of tobacco on their products

We enjoyed our first coffee shop, Rookies, more than the following two. Staff were helpful and supportive in that we were brand new to the country. Best part is a complete ban on tobacco smoking indoors. They offer you free hemp leaf alternative to roll with on the tables.

Landed last night at 9:30, was in my hotel by 11 and in this coffee shop rolling one by 11:30… this was my first ever coffeeshop experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. The smoke was good, price was decent. I’m definitely going to return!!!

Some reviews say touristy, it's Amsterdam! I chatted to someone from Brasil, 2 girls from Italy and the whole place is amazing!! Top weed, really nice hash, not overpriced drinks and no hassles. The staff are mega friendly too! Highly recomemded (I'm there now)

Stayed in Amsterdam 4 days and went to The Rookies every day, best coffee shop in the city! Not too far from the city centre, great atmosphere and incredible staff, great variety of things to smoke and drink, if I'm ever in Amsterdam again, I will definitely be there again!

You can spend nearly €200 on weed here but don’t expect to sit down and enjoy it at rookies unless you’re also going to buy 2 beverages. Not thirsty? Then according to the manager, you’re not welcome here and get out. You’re better off spending your money where your business is appreciated.

Nice place to sit down and smoke a bit. The only down side is the lack of vegan options when it comes to drinks (but they have a nice ginger and mint tea, I would definitely order this again). The staff is attentive and friendly, mostly. Had a nice time there.

Very nice place to drink a coffee while smoking. They are cool with strangers. The only thing that I foun bad was the choice of prerolled joints. If your tired to roll buy your joints somewhere else. Toilets were very clean !

Great selection of products and plenty of cozey seating. Very welcoming vibe where you can get lost for hours. If you’re looking for somewhere warm and inviting this is the place for you! Friendly waiters will serve you at the table for drinks. For weed head up to the front counter where they have everything from Bud to Skins. Great hot choc Fairly priced too!

Excellent products and service, with detailed descriptions of their wide range - helpful for the neophyte - also great hot chocolate and cream. Prices were quite reasonable, especially considering the quality offered. I really enjoyed my visit, and returned several times, as I found it was better than other coffeeshops in the area. Table service for drinks was fast and friendly. It's often quite packed at peak times but you can usually get a seat, and some people don't stay long, so not too hard to get a table. Recommend!

This is the best place in Amsterdam!!! They have the best iced coffee, they recommend you the best for you and not the most expensive ones! And even the most “expensive” it’s a really good price comparing to the rest of coffe shops! And of course they have a really good quality of weed! you can have a great time at this place! I mean it! A great coffeeshop for any time of the day. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and the products rarely disappoint. They've refurbished over the last year or so, and the new decor looks great. They've also expanded their menu. A trip to Amsterdam is never quite complete without dropping into The Rookies for some Amnesia Haze.

Hand down the best coffee shop in Amsterdam. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is great. The music was also perfect. The free chocolate was huge. I’d grab a handful and the lady behind the counter would say ‘go ahead and take the whole bowl!’ The Rookies is far by far better than the bulldog coffee shops. If you’re in Amsterdam, make sure to check this place out.

Very surprised by the good reviews. Asked for a recommendation and the staff had 0 patience even though there was no one else waiting to be served. Another guy wondering around constantly pestering you to buy drinks. Also saw they were rude to others. The one nice guy even said “oh he’d usually would have lost all his patience by now”

Really nice place, cool decor and the staff are so lovely. Prices for weed is slightly higher than some but there's a good range. On a quieter steer, fake tobacco stuff provided. Highly recommended

I'm a long time customer for 3 years so I have seen the place going through changes. We go there usually once a week to hang out. Weed: pricy but they have good quality. Everyone knows the Champagne Haze. Really recommended. The place has gone through extensive renovation. It's looks awesome! Lots of space inside and better ventilation. Great for groups! Food: none (except for space cakes) Drinks: wide variety of choices, prices are on the high side. Staff: super friendly, they appreciate their returning customers. I will be back for sure!

Literally my favourite cafe in Amsterdam! Very relaxed environment. The staff are so friendly and happy to go above and beyond to make you comfortable. The prices are fair and the weed is good. First and last place me and the bf visited in Amsterdam, Aug 2018. They'd just had a redesign and the place looked fantastic. The staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming and inviting, unlike some other places you may find. Overall, great green and great tea (they do loads of hot and cold drinks). Will visit again when we come back!
