It is the only coffeeshop where you can sit inside in Rotterdam and the employees make you feel that by their arrogance :) Normally, buying bud from the coffeeshop is enough to be able to sit inside, not here hahah you need to buy one food/drink per person. So let’s say you are a group of 5 and bought 5g’s of weed for all of you. You still need to buy 5 beverages to be let in… the weed is not bad but it’s not that special either, there are definitely better quality products in the city though. Last but not least, when I was leaving the place, it was raining like crazy so I was putting my coat hood at the entrance to protect myself. Apparently you can’t stand near the entrance (It was apparent that I was only there to fix my coat and gonna go after) and the security was unnecessarily mean about it. Just because they are the only coffeeshop with a smoking area does not mean I have to endure all their sassiness, you would be better off and wayy happier by just buying weed somewhere else and smoking at a park/home.

Unpleasant experience at this coffee shop. The doorguy's overly pushy and way too friendly, which felt unprofessional. Despite being the first to arrive for a meeting with friends, I was told I couldn't wait without purchasing something. When I tried to order a coffee, the waitress insisted they only had paper cups because they were too lazy to wash real ones. Adding to the disappointment, when my friends finally arrived and purchased some weed, it was of catastrophically poor quality and came in very low quantity. Overall, a regrettable experience

Amazing coffee shop in Rotterdam, great location, great music, great design. This is the best coffee shop I have been in the Netherlands, as most of them are very basic, where this one is just a trip. Only thing PRICES FOR WATER ARE OVERPRICED 3 euros and something for a bottle of water? And you cannot bring your own one? This can be improve, but beside that, prices are okay for everything else. I will come back for this great place

Terrible bouncer. My friend wanted to go in to quickly get paper and leave and the bouncers said we must put our bikes on the bridge. We were literally going for just under 10 minutes. Trashy unprofessional and ghetto behavior. Don’t know why you hired people like this…

The bouncer is mean, has no idea whatsoever of how to be professional with his duty while providing a good customer service at the same time. 1. It is totally understandable that the bikes cannot be parked nearby because of the neighbor's complaints which is the reason why I acceded to the request, but nicely explaining the reason why is the proper way to do so and not saying it rudely like if you have the authority to tell people what to do with their personal belongins. 2. The same bouncer, just after moving the bike to the indicated place, DARED to declare that a valid ID of a country was not valid, as if he has any kind of legal authority to confirm the validity of a document. I am a 33 years old professional that definitely does not resembles an underage. I have NO reason why to deceive a security guard of a coffeeshop on my age or identity. For God's sake, I am not coming here to ask for a loan, but just a simple gram! Will not come back.

This is my favourite coffeeshop in rotterdam. They always have top quality Dutch flowers at reasonable prices, and it has by far one of the coolest smoking areas ive seen, which is extra nice because not many coffeeshops in rotterdam have a place to smoke compared to amsterdam. The decor is awesome and creates a very nice environment to get high, and the seating is very comfy. Furthermore, the staff are always very friendly and helpful, and they have alot of patience when helping customers choose strains. Another thing I'd like to note - the security on the door that check ID'S are always very friendly and welcoming. I've been to some coffeeshops were the security are quite intimidating and cold which can be off-putting, but with the Reef that is certainly not the case and the security have always been very welcoming. All in all a great coffeeshop thats well worth a visit if you're in rotterdam! I will definitely be back

I was very apprehensive to go here because of some of the reviews and the fact that I was a tourist. When I went there, there was no rude bouncer or anything. He just checked my passport and let me in that's all. Contrary to some of the reviews, tobacco wasn't allowed inside the smoking area so the joints were packed with grass you can be assured. The music, the staff, the vibe, everything was just perfect and I would say the best I've seen in Europe so far. I see no point in going to Amsterdam in front of this place.

The prices are higher than usually. Love the lounge for smokers, it is nice. When we bought gramm - the weed was great quality. But when you guy complete joint - you feel nothing. Waist of money. So how is it?

The Reef has a nice ambience because the music volume is in a perfect level and the ventilation system works good and no bad air at all. The prices are alright considering other shops I went in other cities. The service is fast and also kind and helpful to tourists. Overall I liked the experience and can recommend it Last but not least the octopus was the best attribute of the interior!

The staff here were amazing! I had scooter charging issues, which curtailed my sightseeing plans amd saw me arrive like a needy drowned rat, two f the three times I visited. From the lovely bouncer, removing the battery for me to charge and guarding the scooter under shelter, to the friendly knowledgable advice on strains and such warm service from the cage staff doing hot water bottles and treating me like welcome family. I can't say enough about how lovely everyone here was. Thank you so much

Seemed nice inside but only went in to get some edibles. Girl with short hair at the counter pointed me to the wrong area of the menu. I then paid and after seeing what she gave me realised I had bought weed instead. Told her again we wanted to buy edibles and she acted like we were at fault and wasting her time. Was able to exchange but she was very rude and made me feel very uncomfortable.

Never been to a place where every employee we interacted to, was rude. And not just to me, I saw them being rude to and humiliating many others. The person at the gate, the woman and man with tattoos at the counter, the one at the bar, 4 people we interacted with and all being mean. Would never step in there again.

Staff aren't nice like they used to be. Weed is super overpriced and not even that good. Some unique strains with some interesting flavours but the trim and cure quality is all over the place. Nice tasting weed is worthless when it's dry as hell, poorly cut.

They have the dopest selection, especially the hybrids! The smoking lounge looks like the cutest green house and it’s tobacco free. They even have a wide variety of snacks and drinks for when you decide to chill there, good vibes all the way

The quality of the product and the premises are actually really good, the welcoming is nice. The ordering process felt rush, they have strict rules but they don’t have them displayed in big for people to be aware. We had a strange interaction with the lady that sells the drinks, she was lovely in the first visit explained the rules very clearly, we agreed to follow the rules. We then retuned later in the day for more, we sat down in a table that had a dirty used ashtray, we didn’t mind, but she was no longer nice and later, she had the audacity of accusing us of using tobacco! With no proof, only the fact that the ashtray was already dirty when we sat down, and when we explained that it was dirty and that we clearly wanted to follow the rules, she carried in saying that we had brought in tobacco… very uncomfortable, we felt targeted. Besides, they have cameras EVERYWHERE, she should have verified her claims before going ahead and making us feel VERY uncomfortable.

Was my first time in , we had to stand in a line where we then finally got to the checkout we had employee with very short hair!!! She was super mean to us because we were still looking at the menu she then said "is it going to take long? In a very mean voice , then I said of don't you have time for us? Her answer was no there is another row behind what ended up being no one behind us. A very mean woman. she will have to learn to deal with customers.

Was my first ever experience in a coffee shop and was really disappointed I explained to the girl behind the counter it was my first time here and I wasn't to sure what to do and if she had any recommendations but she was very rude and just repeated," look at the board" I ended up buying a random bit of smoke and it wasn't even good didn't get me high at all and very over priced, I'm presuming this was because I'm a tourist but my first memory of a coffee shop will now be this bad experience.

Great products but I had a very bad experience with one of the shopkeepers. She was very rude and treated quite badly my friends and I while asking for some information/advices on what to get. I assume her colleagues have better manners, but I"ve been to many coffeeshops and never met such a rude individual. Perhaps she had a bad day; nevertheless I don't think I'll ever come back.

Without a doubt, hands down the best CoffeeShop in Rotterdam. Spent some time hunting around the local dispensaries and although they had a selection of alright quality ganja none of them compete with The Reef. With a large variety of bud, all top quality with a wide selections of terp profiles The Reef is the only one for you if your an experienced smoker. It's also the only CoffeeShop that we've found in Rotterdam that has an inside smoking area which adds to its ranking in Rotterdam CoffeeShops. Couldn't comment on HASH/edibles as I haven't tried any yet. Very highly recommended, just make sure you don't leave your bacci on the table because the guy will latch you and chuck you out. *Since this review has been left I have tried the hash. Sticky, stinking, oily and black. Couldn't recommend enough.

Great Bud quality , friendly staff and overall good vibes . The only weak points are the prices that are far from the best , and the fact that spliffs (joints with tobacco) are not allowed in the smoking area. Payement by card is possible.

It's been a while since I was in a Coffeeshop, but this one seems to check everyone's ID despite how old they look, and even then scans it into some machine. I then bought a joint and tried to go into the smoking lounge, but it's blocked and I was told I must buy a drink first, I don't think that was very clear. Probably wouldn't check this place out again.

The place itself is very beautiful with different decorations, but the staff was shockingly rude. Everyone is passive agressive or not even passive just shouting NEXT. It was stressing to choose and nobody offered help just kept asking you done choosing? It made the whole mood go down as we didn’t feel welcomed. The girls even managed to throw the bags of weed on the counter mixing it all and not writing on which is which, like we don’t care.... I came with my girlfriend on Sunday evening and it wasn’t even a rush for them just they were somehow rushing to finish work without politeness.

It’s a lovely place with very friendly staff and a nice smoking area inside. It’s tobacco free what is very great and all in all it’s a nice atmosphere. The herbs are good but most of em a bit pricey so it’s difficult to find something under 12€. But I definitely recommend this place.

I asked for a pure prerolled, which was sold-out. The lady offered me an alternative, which I assumed would also be pure. Unfortunately it wasn’t, which i realised only after I light it (but did not smoke). So I came back to the shop 2 minutes later, thinking they will just be swap it for me, as it's an innocent mistake. When asking for a new pure one there was no customer service. They could not offer me a different pure joint. They said i must keep the tobacco (which i cannot smoke) or buy a new pure. I have never witnessed such ridiculous customer service. They have lost a life long customer, over a 7 euro joint.

Very friendly staff. If you are American make sure to keep in mind. Joints in Europe are way different to those in America. They are spliffs as we would call it in America. Clarify with the staff and they will be more than happy to help and recommend items to try.

Super welcoming atmosphere, I love to see a fellow lady behind the counter. The bouncer although a tough exterior, a friendly man. I haven't been yet when there aren't any covid-19 regulations, but they take them seriously and it's well organised. I recommend for first timers and regulars as their stuff is also good quality.

If you do not have a Dutch ID they will accuse you of having false documents which is basically slander (laster), ie a criminal offence. There are some staff that are friendly. But the majority don't even ask you what you want. They just stare at you aggressively until you tell them what you want. Then there is no please thank you good day. Absolutely nothing. If i was the business owner i would just use an automated machine to sell the weed. The only added value of having staff in this scenario is that they treat the customer nicely, but because they do not do that they are basically being paid to do what a machine can do. Have someone arrange all the weed outside of opening hours. Fill up the machines and get rid of as much staff as possible! The staff culture in your company is cancer.

Very unfriendly. Only out for profit and not quality. Doesn't even write names on the bags. The bouncer kept hounding us. Staff was very rude and didn't even want to explain. Half of the menu was unavailable. Very expensive. Not a nice atmosphere wouldn't go again

Disrespectful staff. Won’t recommend things, barely show product or interest for that matter. Went in, asked for the purple haze. Was told they were sold out. Had a friend go in and ask in dutch, they gladly sold to him. If you don’t speak fluent dutch don’t even go in. They’ll make you pay more and give you the lowest quality product they have. Which isn’t saying much because all their bud is trash. Sits in non airtight containers all day (would explain the dryness). Pretty sure I didn’t even get a full 3g, didn’t care enough to weigh it. Just went to the coffeeshop down the street. Way better, friendlier and lower prices. Only pro of this place is the smoke room but they allow tobacco smoke w the weed and you gotta pay for an overpriced cup of tea to go in.

Pros: Large lounge area for consumption with neat decor. Staff [mostly] friendly. Cons: Very low quality product. Lowest quality since being in Holland. They should be ashamed. I smelled 4 different strains before finally settling but wish I would have just walked out and not exposed my throat and lungs to such low quality product. Entry and exit in the lounge area are separate and it is confusing for a tourist like myself.

I can recommend their Purple Haze reefer with 0.6 g for €4. Unfortunately they offer no comestibles such space cookies or space cakes. And the security was a bit too heavy

People crammed in and the bouncers all stand about looking pathetic and trying to intimidate a load of stoned people who want nothing but to be left alone and not threatened. The least relaxing joint I have ever had and because of the atmosphere a really glum stoned. Get your weed from a kiosk as they seem to have the better weed. We ordered a few bits from reef and none was right. We smoke a lot of weed and know our favourites and they definitely mugged us of. 4 floors is better atmosphere and more relaxed.

I really like this place so much to buying a good quality weed, pleople say it's a bit over the average price but you can trust on the quality of your purchase. I must say is really difficult to park near by the area, "meent" is the best option to park and then walk a few minutes straight down to get there. Heads up, minor age can not get inside, even if they are yours.

Strong and tasty herbs here. Really open and yet cozy atmosphere. Decorations are some of the best i have seen in rotterdam. The only reason why this is a 4 and not a 5 is because the music is usually too loud to talk normally to someone sitting next to you and the lights could be turned up some more. All in all i enjoyed my visit, would go again.
