Rock-It Coffeeshop

Open now

.. I went back at 00:50 for edibles as next door are too expensive and too weak, this guy's different from earlier. Was amazing, really helpful, and got me sorted immediately. Highly recommend. Came back to try a joint and coffee, gorgous cheese, not UK cheese, Dutch Cheese, never come across this before. Really nice.

We had been at the excellent coffeeshop next door, which was completely packed. So we made the mistake of thinking: fine, we’ll just go and sit at Rock-It instead. Unlike its neighbour, this place was completely empty. Within a few minutes, it became painfully obvious why. The woman behind the counter gives the impression that the existence of customers annoys her almost as much as the fact that the place next door is packed while hers has enough empty space to host the World Championships of Loneliness. And if she treats everyone the way she treated us, she really doesn’t need to worry about that changing anytime soon. This place will probably stay empty forever and ever. Amen. We came in to sit down and smoke, which is, after all, one of the main reasons people go to Amsterdam coffeeshops — especially when smoking cannabis in the street isn’t allowed everywhere. But apparently, being a customer here isn’t enough. The woman starts dictating what else you are expected to buy if you want to sit inside. And the way she communicates it is even more off-putting than the rule itself. Then there’s the selection. Not only is it poor, but what we tried had so little noticeable effect on us that at one point we genuinely wondered whether we’d accidentally walked into a CBD shop. So our experience is actually very easy to sum up: packed next door, empty here. When we first walked in, we thought that was strange. After experiencing both the selection and, above all, the attitude of the staff, we didn’t find it strange at all. If there is such a thing as a business that can perfectly explain within a few minutes why nobody is inside, we just found it.

Very unpleasant experience. Shortly after we sat down, the owner came over and told us that if we did not immediately buy a drink, marijuana, or hash from them, we would have to leave. We had only been sitting there for a short while and had barely had a chance to look around or decide what to order. In the end, we bought both drinks and hash, but unfortunately the attitude of the staff did not improve. The service remained very unfriendly, and throughout our visit we felt more like the message was “buy something quickly and leave” rather than that we were welcome as customers. I understand that a coffeeshop may have a rule requiring customers to order something. That in itself is not the problem. The problem is the way this was communicated to us and the attitude of the staff afterwards. What makes the experience even harder to understand is that Coffeeshop Tyson is right nearby and offers a completely different level of hospitality and customer service. With such strong competition next door, you would expect Rock-It to make more of an effort to make customers feel welcome, not less. Perhaps that competitive pressure is part of the reason for the atmosphere here, but from a customer’s point of view, the difference between the two places is striking. We visited several coffeeshops in Amsterdam and did not experience such an unpleasant approach anywhere else. With Tyson so close and providing a much better experience, we see no reason to return here.

My two friends were already inside and purchased a pre rolled and the guy inside told them that they would need to buy more if they wanted to sit inside. All good, they purchased a second pre roll and a drink. Then, I arrive and I sit the next to them. The same guy comes and DEMANDS that I buy something to drink if I want to sit there. Ok, fair. I got to the counter and purchase the drink and the guy, again, demands that I purchase a SECOND drink as I arrived with another person(not true, my friends were already there). This is standard terrible customer service in tourist trap coffeeshops in Amsterdam. He could have explained the rules in a much more polite manner and not be so pushy in demanding more and more purchases. Your money is better spent somewhere else!

Lovely place sat on a Monday night and plenty of room easy to sit outside

Amazing coffee shop I love the grape diesel and cherry poppers and the guy with cap was realy friendly I wil come back Soon nice place

Two years ago, we already visited New Rocket Coffeeshop at Nieuwmarkt, and this time we decided to come back again. We’re so glad we did. We were warmly welcomed by Philip, who took great care of us and gave excellent recommendations. The whole experience was relaxed, friendly, and genuinely enjoyable. We had an amazing time and truly felt at home. We can’t wait to come back again soon!

Not particularly welcoming staff, said i would buy two drinks if i can smoke sometime from elsewhere (due to flight next morning). Having none of it so had to buy the cookie dough edible in which was quite strong. Despite frosty welcome, the outdoor area is great for a smoke and people watching

Staff are a bit direct and not helpful when engaging with them. Location small but does a good range of joints. Would consider visiting again

I had a very disappointing experience here. I specifically asked for a THC pre-roll (sativa mix with tobacco). The staff member was unfriendly and insisted on extra purchases just to sit inside. After buying multiple items, I later realized the pre-rolls did not contain real cannabis at all. They had almost no smell, pulled extremely poorly, and produced zero effect, more like herbal filler than weed. This feels very misleading, especially for visitors who trust the staff’s recommendation. I would strongly advise others to double-check what they are being sold before paying. There are many better and more honest coffeeshops in Amsterdam.

Amazing weed, amazing staff, amazing shop! Would defo recommend going here if you’re looking for some premium herb and vibes

Fella working was a waste of space, after buying a coffee and a pre roll. He didn't want me smoking on the property. Honestly I visited a lot of coffee shops but I'll never set foot in this place again. Shocking customer service. Don't bother with the pre rolls, waste of time.

First of all. It was my last day. I was waiting for a taxi back to airport. ( didnt want to buy smoke ) Im disabled at moment on crutches and cant walk properly. I sat outside here on a table and asked for a coffee and was asked to buy weed or move Staff are horrible would not recommend to anyone. If I could leave 0 stars I would

Had a pre rolled pure, and felt nothing after smoking the whole thing, the only sensation was being scammed, after that people advised me to buy a gram and preparing the joint myself, so best to do that I guess Also, you’re not allowed to smoke inside unless you buy a gram and a drink There is a coffee shop a few blocks ahead more welcoming

Really rude staff with lot of attitude. Force you to buy drinks and smoke to have a miserable table. No passion with costumes. Go to Tyson coffee shop next door they will treat you with more respect

Richard is a great fella. Very friendly and welcoming. The bud I got is also not bad. Definitely worth a visit when you're around.

I came here everyday during my vacation to Amsterdam. The staff is friendly, the venue isn’t overly crowded at peak times, and the weed is good.

Always visit Rock-It every time I’m in Amsterdam, one of my favourite coffee shops! Although I was gutted to see the Sour Apple Diesel is no longer on the menu :( by far one the most flavoursome buds I’ve tasted, will be missed!

I met a girl on July 2nd at night before they closed and I thought she was lovely. I just hope she reads this and looks me up on social media. By the way, the place is cozy and the guys are very friendly.

Incredibly rude tender behind the counter Sat 24th May at night time. The guy with the hat was sound enough but the bald dude was really passive aggressive. Only reason I went there was because next door was too busy and I guess they survive off similar clients.

Hard for me to judge since I don't do drugs, but my friends said it was great. Staff seemed friendly. The establishment have outside and inside seating. The place is clean and the music is decent.

how they dare? always check before buy guys! smell and see, i trusted blind, normally in the past they had good stuff but this is a big insult, i want to throw it to the face who gave me this!

Visited this coffee shop three times on our recent trip , brilliant atmosphere great options and the staff are so polite and lovely to talk too happy enough to answer any questions you ask and gave some great recommendations , will definitely visit here again on my next visit to Amsterdam out of all the places we visited we liked here the most it was in general a very nice experience ☺️x

really rude staff, wouldn’t let us sit down even though we bought weed there if we didn’t buy a drink- the place was empty. never had that in any other coffee shop. don’t recommend

Rock it Coffeeshop in Amsterdam sold me fake pre-made joints filled with only tobacco. This level of deceit is outrageous and undermines the trust tourists place in such businesses. If you care about honesty and fairness, avoid this place—they don’t deserve your money.

Wanted to buy some drinks but was refused service, a friend already bought the green and I was gonna buy the drinks but the guy on the counter said I had to buy a joint too because it was ‘crazy busy’, it wasn’t that busy. Maybe try to be a bit nicer to your customers ey?

Pre bagged rubbish. Avoid this place. It is literraly only convenient to chill and people watch, because their outside seating is nicely situated. There menu was sub standard compared to the rest of the city. We tried the strawberry kush. It was diabolical. No taste and after the initial first opening of the bag didn't smell of anything at all.. don't waste your time.

Was in Amsterdam a few weeks back and stopped by this coffeeshop..staff were friendly and coffee was good to...Nice chap from London works there really nice bloke

A nice coffeeshop in heart of red light district, the choice of strains could be bigger but it is sufficient. A lot of seating available - also outside :)

Rude and not helpful. Also make sure you ask about what you’re smoking. If your from Cali don’t get souped bc this is the bucket bud I’ve ever seen

Great staff, knowledgeable, kind and approachable! Good selection and a bit cheaper than other shops! Also has a terrace outside you can smoke on which is amazing!

Nice weed good service like the new Cali

Found this cafe and I got to say good as gold you feel nice and safe zoltan took care of us,funny guy made us all laugh if we ever go back to the dam we will definitely go and see him

I was sold a damaged joint (bottom was jiggly and no structural integrity). When I asked for a replacement the rude and lazy salesman pretended to fix it and just handed it back to me. Avoid this place - there aee plenty of nicer sports in this area and go further to De Overkant for a five star smokeshop.

Smallest pre rolls known to mankind, filter is the same size as the joint. Embarrassing

Joint very expensive for what it is. Half of it was a roach and he also made us purchase a drink for €3 so we could stay and smoke

You know it's probably not a good idea to get smoke from a coffeeshop that had it pre bagged... Bought some cookie crunch from here and still waiting for the high to kick in near 6 weeks later, do yourself a favour and go next door or anywhere else tbh

I went in here and smelt the sour apple diesel after i walked out threw up and booked a early flight home

One of the guys working there is super creepy, kept making sexual jokes towards me and my other friends- no wonder we were one of the (very) few girls in there… totally uncomfortable and the vibes were not that much better, the upstairs room has super bright white light thats just not the vibe when youre trying to enjoy your sesh

All their weed is haze with different names. Bought 2 gram of supposed kish for 30 and was just haze. Stay away. Tourist trap.

Worst coffee shop in Amsterdam. If you want to smoke weed sprayed with terps, come here!

That’s a total failure guys. No-goer in terms of rudeness of a bully staff, let alone miserable looks of interior. A true disappointment. Reviews with 5 stars are almost exemplary in their fakeness.

Good places to get a smoke and sit outside I’ll definitely be back !!

The person who served us was angry and intimidating. The coffee had some sort of chemical in it. I took one sip and my mouth and throat were burning for a couple of hours afterwards. Avoid this place at all costs.

staff were fine but the product was BAD. first ordered a pre roll with tobacco, which granted wasn’t the best choice but i liked the sound of the weed it was made with and it was the only option for getting it. come to smoking it a minute later on the premises, and i discover that it isn’t a weed joint with tobacco in it but a huge cigarette. the smoke smelt like tobaccco and it tasted like tobacco, so i put it out and opened it up to find that there was what i would say about 0.1/0.2 grams of actual weed in this joint. and that’s being generous. disappointed, i decided to give the coffeeshop one more chance and i bought a pure weed pre roll. this was a couple euro more than the first joint, but still quite cheap at €8. this one, although rather tiny and with the longest roach i’d ever seen, looked like it was pure weed and would at least get me a little bit stoned. on smoking however, i realised that again they had bulked up the joint, this time with marshmallow leaf or something green like that, as i recognised the taste of it in the smoke. i wish i’d had the confidence to ask for an explanation or refund but it was my first time in an amsterdam coffeeshop and i was a little nervous anyway. unfortunately the experience was not one i would like to repeat and it left me feeling disappointed.

Always start and end a trip with a pre roll polm tobacco from Rock It as force of habit from my initial first visit... it'll help set your baseline for the Amsterdam adventures ahead and it's got a great tender and general vibe. A pocket before the pandomonium. It doesn't pretend to be one of the big franchises but a good spot to begin and finish your holiday if you're interested in the older days vibe from the Nieumarket hey days. Temple Bar down the road to the right is a great spot mere metres away to chill around lunchtime too.

Went into here wanting a pre roll joint the guy at the counter was on the phone and asked me to wait so after 10 minutes of listening to him on the phone waiting to be served he asks me to wait outside terrible customer service incredibly rude no manners atall really disappointing only place I’ve been to that was like this.

The coffee was out of a cartridge machine and the weed was overpriced and not great quality. A real tourist trap, at a guess I'd say it feeds off the overspill from the cafe next door.

Nice place to smoke and 2floor good look out Nieuwmarkt party good cali weed good vibe

Nice Stuff. Good Weed. Easy Place.

Read the reviews before you go and then go next door. Waste of money. Pre-rolled was just tobacco.

It's only worth buying the cheapest thing on the menu, so you have a place to smoke when seating is full from the coffee shop next door. Weed wasn't really overpriced, but there was no smell from any of the two grams I bought. They also didn't label either of the bags. I donated them to some drunk tourist. So at least someone's night was made.

They scam tourists by selling tobacco instead of cannabis joints. It was a most disappointing experience.

I didn't had any effect, it was a waste of money, with my friends we spent almost 18euros for nothing, don't recommend

Excellent service. You have to try the Apple diesel..

If you enjoy staff talking about you and making you feel uncomfortable then this is the place for you! In a city where it’s already easy to feel overwhelmed I wouldn’t recommend here as a safe space lol

They shell "Nepal/Afghan" for 10e per gram and it's a complete scam.

Tried white widow and northern lights as seasoned smokers but first time in amsterdam and quality was awful, wierd coloured weed that was to brown and the high bring really weak and unenjoyable.

Perfect shop with amazing staff, strain to try strawberry og kush 10/10

Fake take away joints. Its just a cigarret whith nothing in there.. its a scam. They trick people in there. Its a horrible place to go. DONT GO THERE

Rudest coffeeshop ever!!!! We wanted to use the toilet first before buying anything and sitting down. The staff started to argue that we gotta buy something first and we explained we wanted to use the toilet first. The argument lasted about 5 minutes before they let use it. After that they insulted my boyfriend and made some gender intolerant jokes. All in all that was the worst coffeeshop I’ve ever been to and the weed is expensive and bad. I literally recommend going anywhere else.

The pre-rolled has almost only tobacco in it. I don't smoke and I felt almost nothing. 6 euros is a whole pack of cigarettes in a usual store. Sadly I can't recommend this place.

The strawberry OG kush is to die for

Nice strains and prices and next door to another coffeeshops.

Good staff and good weed. The place is nice if you want to chill. I recommend (especially the strawberry) !!

Be careful here! Very unfriendly and aggressive owner. I can't recommend this shop.

My new favourite Coffeeshop. The Calis were mint. The staff are great and I ended up going back every day. The boys make it a joy to visit. Great selection on offer with wise words given with every purchase, not that I needed any advice, but I heard the lads chatting with first time Shroom users and share their knowledge of all that they sell. I will see them again for Kings Day 2023.

MoonRock was Just a hash with kief. No flower inside.

Way tooooo high prices for what you get :( Uncontrollable sitting areas :( Worst service ever :( and dirty :(

They got the good stuff AK47

The sour apple and the strawberry are vert best weeds for the Rock-it. Very very good weeds .

So I have been to Amsterdam about 8 times and this place is somewhere I always go too! English owner I think well there was a cockney gent who ran it the times I’ve been there :) nice enough guy and the weed is NEXT LEVEL like I mean NEXT LEVEL!! sour apple diesel smells like actually mindblowingly good never found anything like it since. Lovely seating area upstairs and very clean great little too!! This year has ruined the world but one day I hope I get to go back and enjoy my time in this place ! Stay amazing guys I love you

I went a few years back now... I'll never forget to taste of the sour apple diesel you guys sold... nothings come close since

Great service, fast and easy. Owner seems nice too

Good coffeeshop you will find what you need in there

Nothing special, good stuff.

Good cofeshop

Love the strawberry banana kush

Best Coffee shop in Amsterdam, i have Been here for 4 years now. And i Will keep coming back. Amazing menu, and cool Staff !

great staff in a chilled-out coffeeshop. Good selection of weed.

Strawberry I love it.... Fake but the taste is blunty

Avoid this place at all costs, staff were very rude, arrogant and unwelcoming. Awful atmosphere, feels like you’re smoking in a kebab shop. Forced to purchase overpriced drinks if you want to smoke inside. Lighting is blinding, Interior design is unforgivable and seating is archaic. Overall dead vibes.

Cash only. Really nice raggea music being played and the weed is good. If you want to stay inside you must also purchase a drink. I enjoyed my stay.

One of the best coffee shops around. I just saw the same dude working there that was there the first time i went. Amazing! Good prices on everything sold. Good menu selection

Very good shop!!.. amazing strains! This is the best / only shop to get your Apple Sour diesel! Highly recommended !

Visited this coffeeshop during our trip to Amsterdam. Easily found with the bright sign and once instead there is seating upstairs, in the back and outside. The smoke is decent and quite cheap, would have liked more drinks options but that's me being picky. Staff are patient and quick to sort out problems.

Had a great time. Sat outdoors on a comfy bench then upstairs when it began to rain. Lovely helpful staff and chilled vibe. My partner didn't wanna leave!!

Every coffee shop is amazing here but all so different, that why I love this city

Love this place, this was the first place I came to 4 years ago. Every time I come to Amsterdam I drop by here. Has had a few changes , Bob Marley picture still upstairs.

Amazing little shop, very chilled vibe. Pineapple haze was litttt. Will defo be back

smart device running low on power, just the place chill and charge..

The worst coffeeshop that I’ve ever been in Amsterdam. I had to throw away 1gr of pineapple haze because it was disgusting. “It’s not for everyone” adding one extra photo of their “premium” weed. It’s better to smoke dry grass than this.

Chill place liked hanging out upstairs the view was excellent for people watching while enjoying cannabis.

This coffeeshop was close to our hotel so it was a regular end of the night spot. Always somewhere to sit and a cozy spot

All sprayed fake crap! Couldn't believe it when I saw it! DO NOT GO HERE. They are crooks and need to be closed down!

The worst quality i find in an amsterdam's coffeeshop after 3 times coming here for holidays. The staff is very unfriendly too

this coffee has the best strain in amsterdam, strawberry og kush, fantastic.

THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING! You should only buy cannabis from here if you love lung damage. They sell SPRAYED weed, especially the Sour Apple Diesel crap. DO NOT BUY CANNABIS FROM HERE UNLESS YOU ARE STUPID! They are taking advantage of tourists by selling them awful sprayed weed. Go to a respected coffeeshop that does not sell poison.

Hmmm. The budtender was not friendly insisting that I purchase weed as all I wanted was a coffee and to finish the smoke from Coffeeshop Marresa. I did and enjoyed the smoke in front of the historic Wagg House.
